Damian Fraser


Damian founded Miranda Partners in 2018; he was Mexico Country Manager of UBS from 2001 to 2018, where he oversaw the 180-person local Investment Banking, Wealth Management and Equity businesses. Previously he ran UBS’s Latin American Equity division, worked as Head of UBS LatAm Equity Research, and was “Number One” ranked LatAm “Institutional Investor” equity analyst for Strategy for multiple years. Prior to banking, Damian was a journalist at The Economist (economics correspondent), and at the Financial Times (Mexico bureau chief). He holds a CFA, an MPA from Harvard University, and BA from Oxford University in Politics, Philosophy and Economics (PPE).

Gabriela Jiménez

Gabriela is a journalist and communications specialist, with a focus on the economic and financial sectors, from the Universidad Iberoamericana. She has worked with outlets such as La Jornada and, and was the director of Economí for three years. She has a Master’s Degree in Journalism and Public Policy from CIDE. Gabriela’s main areas of interest are financial inclusion and the gender wage gap.

James Young

James Young Moving to Mexico in 2000, James Young worked for national arts and culture ministry Conaculta from 2001-2004 as an assistant curator at the Centro de la Imagen’s in-house new media and technology-based art space Sala del Cielo in Mexico City, drawing on his Cum Laude B.S. in Physics from Florida State University. He also curated independent art shows in the capital before joining The Miami Herald as its arts and living editor for the Mexico Edition from 2004-2007, when the project closed. He became the Mexico correspondent for Hollywood trade outlet Variety from 2008 to 2013, where he remains a resource when needed. Young also acted as a regular correspondent for Market News International (2010-2013), and editor at the Intellichem LatAm Petrochemical newsletter (2009-2013). With the global collapse of foreign correspondence reporting in 2013, Young took on a long-running acting role in the HBO LatAm series Señor Avila, before taking on a reporting position covering banking, insurance and political risk at business news and data news platform BNamericas, based in Santiago, Chile. He was promoted to Mexico Bureau Chief in 2018, a post he held until joining Miranda Partners as head of Miranda Intelligence division in October 2022.
